4 Chair Discipling
At FCC Grayson, we believe that it is not enough to be touched by God's Word... We must let us change us.
The Next Steps program helps us to identify four spiritual stages, each represented by a chair.
As we go through the chairs, each person can self diagnose which chair they are in.
(Please Scroll down to get further information on each Chair)
Chair 1 - The Lost
Chair 2 - The Believer
Chair 3 - The Christian
Chair 4 - The Disciple
Chair 1 represents lost people.
The people in this chair need to know about Jesus.
They need to know they matter to God and that they matter to the church.
They need relationships with Christians who are willing to meet them where they are.
They need to get their concerns, objections, and questions addressed.
They need a clear presentation of the good news (The Gospel).
Chair 2 represents the believer.
Once they believe, they need to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
They might believe that God exists. They might believe the Bible is true. But
need to know that Jesus is the only way to the Father.
They need to repent. They need to be obedient in baptism.
The third chair represents the Christian.
They need a relationship with Jesus. They need to study God’s Word, memorize and meditate on it, so that they can properly hear God’s voice.
They need to be communicating with God through
prayer on a regular basis. They need to be committed to
worship, in the assembly as well as in lifestyle.
The fourth chair represents the disciple.
They need to obediently follow Jesus.
They need to know that lost people matter to God and they need to be intentionally building
relationships with people and leading them to Christ.
They need to align their will with God’s will and be “others focused”.
They need to serve. They need to help first chair people move through
