Weekly Prayer Directives
We will provide weekly prayer directives as we go through February 2024 study on Emotions and the Heart. We encourage you to make these part of your regular prayer time.
Joy
Day 1
Jesus told the seventy-two disciples not to rejoice because evil spirits
obeyed them, but to rejoice because their names were registered in
heaven. Let’s focus today on the joy of our salvation and thank Him that
our names can be registered in heaven.
Luke 10:17-20

Day 2
The Lord is our sustainer and keeper. He gives us the gift of joy that
endures through every season of life. Pray that as we journey through life’s experiences, the joy of the Lord will remain our constant companion.
Psalm:16:11

Day 3
Christians aren’t exempt from troubles. But, even in the midst of sorrow
and grief we can find comfort and peace in the Lord. Thank Him for the
promise of comfort and healing, that our sorrow will be turned into
wonderful joy.
John 16:20

Day 4
Jesus tells us to ask in his name and we will receive, so that our joy may
be made full. Focus today on thanking God for hearing and answering our prayers.
John 16:23-24

Day 5
When we seek to base our joy on things of this world, we are left
unfulfilled. The happiness it brings is fleeting and we’re left with a longing for something more. We find true and lasting joy in the presence of God. Pray that God will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in Him.
Romans 15:13

Day 6
Scripture tells us that when we are filled with abundant joy, it overflows in
rich generosity. Pray that God would fill us with such abundant joy that it
would overflow as acts of love to others.
2 Corinthians 8:2
