Seeing is Believing

Updated: Jan 16

"This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him."

John 2:11

Many of us would love to have that burning bush experience like Moses, or see the Water turned into wine, or experience the awesome Pillar of Fire that Elijah called down from Heaven. And for some "Seeing is Believing." The first miracle that Jesus did was turn water into wine and His disciples "Believed in Him." But was this when they first believed in Him? Didn't they already choose to "leave everything and follow Him"?

The Disciples were on a journey with the King of Kings! Jesus had called them and they had come. They had believed and followed. Yet God wasn't done with them. They were going to see the blind eyes opened, the lame legs walk, and the dead raised to life! The writer of the Gospel of John is showing us that Jesus is the One! He is the One that we can believe in! He is the One who changed the water into the best wine! He is the One the Disciples believed in.

Our faith is so precious to God. In 1 Peter 1:7 the Bible says that our faith is more precious than gold ... and will be found to the praise, honor, and glory of God." That is awesome! This is what God finds precious--our Faith! Isn't that exciting? One of the amazing things about God is that He strengthens our faith. He doesn't leave us where we were in the beginning. God takes us from faith to faith. Our journey if from glory to glory. In other words--just like the disciples--we are on an incredible journey of faith!

This isn't a sign the card, go forward at the altar, say a prayer and be done kind of faith. This is God reaching into the depths of the darkness of our lives and manifesting Himself as our Savior and Lord! This is God leading us, carrying us, and loving us into the kingdom! He will show us greater things as we follow, trust, and believe. Then our "Seeing will be Believing"!
