The Burdened Life - Week 2

We all carry things that nobody else can see. Fear, anxiety, offense, disappointment, unanswered questions, expectations, and the pressure to keep everything together. When life isn't normal, we often tighten our grip and carry even more. We want to get through the difficult chapter as quickly as possible so we can move on to the next one, but Scripture repeatedly shows us that God often does some of His deepest work in the seasons we would rather escape. Relinquishment means not only releasing what we are trying to control, but releasing the burdens we have decided we must carry ourselves. The question isn't simply, "What am I holding?" but "What am I carrying that God never asked me to carry?"
