The Sweetest Blooms - Hope & Healing

My mom loves Roses.
Over the years I’ve helped her plant quite a few.

The root ball of a rose is dark, twisted and gnarled. They are often black and knotted. From that root grow stems covered in thorns, prickly to the touch and dangerous to thin skinned arms and knuckles.

Honestly, the parts of the rose underground and closest to the root are UGLY. The branches that stem from the UGLY are hard to handle.

Yet from such ugliness and stems so hard to grasp become the most beautiful and fragrant blooms, treasured highly as symbols of devotion .

See where I’m going with this?

God can take something ugly and painful and create a new thing, beautiful and treasured. He can take grief and heartbreak and transform them into a testimony dedicated to His glory.
He can take a broken and gnarled relationship, pain, guilt, loss and bitterness and bring something new and beautiful up from the root, totally different in both appearance and purpose.

We are not defined by our grief, our struggles , our failures or our past mistakes. We are ALL a work in progress, tasked with letting the Light shine through the cracks.

All of us are broken, beautiful and original works of art, designed by the Creator to tell our stories like roses crafted in stained glass. Let go and Let God! Only He can truly create a masterpiece.
